  • What is this medication?

    Aspercreme contains a topical analgesic. It is intended to provide temporary relief of minor pain associated with arthritis, simple backache, muscle strains, sprains, bruises, and cramps. The Back and Body Patch is also intended to provide temporary relief of minor pain associated with tendonitis and bursitis.
  • Are there any warnings associated with Aspercreme?

    This product is for external use only.

    This product may cause an allergic reaction especially if you are allergic to aspirin or salicylates. Consult a doctor before use.

    Use this product only as directed.

    Do not bandage tightly or use this product with a heating pad.

    When using this product, avoid contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. A transient burning sensation may occur upon application with Aspercreme Max No-Mess Roll-On or Aspercreme Heat Pain Relieving Gel but generally disappears in several days.

    Do not apply this product to wounds or damaged, broken or irritated skin.

    Stop using this product and talk to a doctor if your condition worsens, your symptoms persist for more than 7 days or clear up and occur again within a few days, you have redness, or irritation develops.

    If severe burning sensation occurs with Aspercreme Max No-Mess Roll-On or Aspercreme Heat Pain Relieving Gel, discontinue use immediately. Do not expose the area treated with product to heat or direct sunlight.

    If Aspercreme Max No-Mess Roll-On or Aspercreme Heat Pain Relieving Gel comes in contact with hands, wash with soap and water.

    Keep this product out of the reach of children. If this product is swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center immediately.

    Side effects cannot always be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue using this drug.

  • What is the usual dosage?

    Aspercreme Creme and Aspercreme Max No-Mess Roll-On:

    Adults and children >12 years: Apply the product generously to the affected area. Massage the product into the painful area until it is thoroughly absorbed into the skin. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 4 times daily.

    Children 12 years:

    Ask a doctor.

    Aspercreme Lotion:

    Adults and children >12 years: Shake the lotion well before using. Apply generously to the affected area. Massage into the painful area until it is thoroughly absorbed into the skin. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 4 times daily.

    Children 12 years:

    Aspercreme Heat Pain Relieving Gel:

    Adults and children >18 years: Apply to the affected area. Squeeze desired amount of product onto affected area. Using the sponge-top applicator, massage dispensed gel into painful area until thoroughly absorbed. Repeat as necessary but do not use more than 3 to 4 times per day.

  • How should I store Aspercreme?

    Store at room temperature.
