  • What is this medication?

    Children's Tylenol contains a pain reliever/fever reducer andis intended to temporarily reduce fever and temporarily relieve minor aches and pains due to the common cold, flu, headache, sore throat, and toothache.
  • Are there any warnings associated with Children's Tylenol?

    This product contains acetaminophen. Severe liver damage may occur if your child takes more than 5 doses in 24 hours or takes this product with other drugs containing acetaminophen.

    If sore throat is severe, persists for more than 2 days, is accompanied or followed by fever, headache, rash, nausea, or vomiting, consult a doctor promptly.

    Use only as directed. Do not exceed the recommended dose of this product.

    Do not use this product with any other drug (prescription or nonprescription) containing acetaminophen.

    Do not use this medication if your child is allergic to acetaminophen or any of the inactive ingredients in this product.

    Stop using this product and talk to a doctor if pain gets worse or lasts for more than 5 days; fever gets worse or lasts for more than 3 days; new symptoms occur; or redness or swelling is present. These could be signs of a serious condition.

    Keep this product out of the reach of children.

    Taking more of this product than the recommended dose (overdose) may cause liver damage. In the case of an overdose, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away. Quick medical attention is critical even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.

    Do not use this product if the bottle wrap or foil inner seal imprinted with the words "Safety Seal" is broken.

    Severe liver damage may result if a child takes more than 5 doses of this product in 24 hours.

    Side effects cannot always be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue using this drug.

    Do not use this product with any other drug containing acetaminophen, either prescription or over-the-counter.

    Do not exceed 5 doses in 24 hours. Do not give this product for more than 5 days unless directed by a doctor.

    Children's Tylenol Suspension Liquid:

    Shake well before using. Use only the enclosed dosing cup designed for use with this product. Do not use any other dosing device.

    Children 72 to 95 lbs, 11 years of age: Use 3 teaspoons or 15 milliliters (mL).

    Children 60 to 71 lbs, 9 to 10 years of age: Use 2 ½ teaspoons or 12.5 mL.

    Children 48 to 59 lbs, 6 to 8 years of age: Use 2 teaspoons or 10 mL.

    Children 36 to 47 lbs, 4 to 5 years of age: Use 1 ½ teaspoons or 7.5 mL.

    Children 24 to 35 lbs, 2 to 3 years of age: Use 1 teaspoon or 5 mL.

    Children <24 lbs, <2 years of age: Ask a doctor.

    Concentrated Infants' Drops:

    Shake this product well before using. Use only the enclosed dropper for measuring this product (do not use with any other dosing device). Turn bottle upside down and pull syringe to the correct dose. Dispense the liquid slowly into the child's mouth, toward the inner cheek. Replace dropper tightly to maintain child resistance.

    Children 24 to 35 lbs, 2 to 3 years of age: Use 5 mL.

    Children <24 lbs, <2 years of age: Ask a doctor.

    Meltaways:

    Dissolve the tablets in the mouth or chew before swallowing.

    Children 72 to 95 lbs, 11 years of age: Take 6 tablets.

    Children 60 to 71 lbs, 9 to 10 years of age: Take 5 tablets.

    Children 48 to 59 lbs, 6 to 8 years of age: Take 4 tablets.

    Children 36 to 47 lbs, 4 to 5 years of age: Take 3 tablets.

    Children 24 to 35 lbs, 2 to 3 years of age: Take 2 tablets.

    Children <24 lbs, <2 years of age: Ask a doctor.

    Tylenol Jr. Meltaways:

    Children 96 lbs, 12 years of age: Take 4 tablets.

    Children 72 to 95 lbs, 11 years of age: Take 3 tablets.

    Children 60 to 71 lbs, 9 to 10 years of age: Take 2 ½ tablets.

    Children 48 to 59 lbs, 6 to 8 years of age: Take 2 tablets.

  • How should I store Children's Tylenol?

    Store at room temperature. Avoid humidity for Meltaways and Jr. Meltaways. Protect Jr. Meltaways from light.
