  • What is this medication?

    Claritin contains an antihistamine. It is intended to temporarily relieve runny nose; sneezing; itchy, watery eyes; and itching of the nose or throat due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies.
  • Are there any warnings associated with Claritin?

    Do not use this product if you have ever had an allergic reaction to it or any of its ingredients.

    Do not take more of this product than directed. Taking more than directed may cause drowsiness.

    Stop using this product and ask a doctor if an allergic reaction to this product occurs. Seek medical help right away.

    Keep this product out of the reach of children. In the case of an overdose, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.

    Do not use this product if the individual blister unit imprinted with Claritin, Claritin Liqui-Gels, or Claritin RediTabs is open or torn.

    Use 24 Hour RediTabs tablets within 6 months of opening the foil pouch. Use 12 Hour and 24 Hour RediTabs tablets immediately after opening the individual blister.

    Tablets, Liqui-Gels and 24 Hour RediTabs:

    Adults and children 6 years: Take one 10-milligram (mg) tablet/liquid-gel capsule daily; not more than one tablet/capsule in 24 hours. Place RediTabs tablet on the tongue; it disintegrates, with or without water.

    Children <6 years: Ask a doctor.

    Consumers with liver or kidney disease: Ask a doctor.

    12 Hour RediTabs:

    Place tablet on the tongue; it disintegrates, with or without water.

    Adults and children 6 years: Take one 5-milligram (mg) RediTabs tablet every 12 hours; not more than 2 tablets in 24 hours.

    Children <6 years: Ask a doctor.

    Consumers with liver or kidney disease: Ask a doctor.

  • How should I store Claritin?

    Tablets:

    Store between 2° and 30°C (36° and 86°F). Protect from excessive moisture.

    Liqui-Gels and 12 Hour RediTabs:

    Store between 20°C and 25°C (68° to 77°F). Protect liquid-gels from freezing.

    24 Hour RediTabs Tablets:

    Store between 2° and 25°C (36° and 77°F). Keep in a dry place.
