  • What is Clenia?

    Clenia is a topical medicine (applied directly on the skin) that is used to treat acne and rosacea (a skin condition marked by red eruptions, usually on the cheeks and nose). Also, Clenia is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis (an inflammatory skin condition that affects your face and scalp). It is available in a foaming wash and a cream.

  • What is the most important information I should know about Clenia?

    Clenia is for external use only. Do not use it in your eyes, eyelids, lips, mouth, or nose. If the medication gets in contact with any of those areas, rinse thoroughly with water.

    Clenia can cause a severe rash known as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, blood disorders, fever, skin toxicity, and liver problems. Stop using this medication and tell your doctor immediately if you notice irritation or redness and scaling of the skin.

    Clenia Emollient Cream: Apply the cream to the affected area(s) up to three times a day.

    Clenia Foaming Wash: Wash the affected areas and apply the foaming wash to those areas. Massage the medication into the affected areas for 10-20 seconds, rinse it thoroughly with water, and pat your skin dry.

    Clenia Emollient Cream: Cleanse the affected areas and apply a thin layer of cream to those areas. Start with one application a day, and then gradually increase to 2-3 times a day, as prescribed by your doctor.
