  • What is Esgic-Plus?

    Esgic-Plus is used to relieve the symptoms associated with tension (or muscle contraction) headaches.

  • What is the most important information I should know about Esgic-Plus?

    Esgic-Plus is habit forming; you should only take it for as long as it is prescribed.

    Esgic-Plus contains acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol). To avoid acetaminophen toxicity, do not take more Esgic-Plus than prescribed. Also, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any over-the-counter products that may contain acetaminophen. Do not drink alcohol while taking Esgic-Plus.

  • Who should not take Esgic-Plus?

    Do not take Esgic-Plus if you have a history of porphyria or if you are allergic or sensitive to any of its ingredients.

  • What should I tell my doctor before I take the first dose of Esgic-Plus?

    Tell your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking before beginning treatment with Esgic-Plus. Also, talk to your doctor about your complete medical history, especially if you have a history of drug abuse, alcoholism, cirrhosis of the liver, kidney disease, or liver disease.

  • What is the usual dosage?

    The information below is based on the dosage guidelines your doctor uses. Depending on your condition and medical history, your doctor may prescribe a different regimen. Do not change the dosage or stop taking your medication without your doctor's approval.

    Adults: The usual dose is 1 capsule every 4 hours. Do not take more than 6 capsules daily.

  • How should I take Esgic-Plus?

    Take Esgic-Plus exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

  • What should I avoid while taking Esgic-Plus?

    Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this medication. Esgic-Plus may cause drowsiness. This effect may be worse if you take it with alcohol or CNS depressants.

    Avoid taking any over-the-counter products that contain acetaminophen without consulting with your doctor or pharmacist.

  • What are possible food and drug interactions associated with Esgic-Plus?

    If Esgic-Plus is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Esgic-Plus with the following: acetaminophen, alcohol, CNS depressants, general anesthetics, narcotic analgesics, sedative-hypnotics, or tranquilizers.

  • What are the possible side effects of Esgic-Plus?

    Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this drug.

    Side effects may include: drowsiness, lightheadedness, sedation, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain

  • Can I receive Esgic-Plus if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

    The effects of Esgic-Plus during pregnancy and breastfeeding are unknown. Tell your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

  • What should I do if I miss a dose of Esgic-Plus?

    Esgic-Plus should only be taken as needed. If you miss a dose and feel symptomatic, take it as soon as you remember. Do not exceed the daily recommended dose.

  • How should I store Esgic-Plus?

    Store at room temperature.
