  • How should I take Fortical?

Before administration of the first dose, allow the bottle to reach room temperature. Remove the protective cap and clip from the bottle. Prime the nasal spray holding the bottle upright and depressing the two white side arms of the pump toward the bottle at least 5 times in the air until a full spray is produced. Once the nasal spray has been primed for the first time, it is not necessary to re-prime it before each use. To use the spray, the nozzle should be carefully placed into the nostril with your head in the upright position as you firmly depress the pump toward the bottle only once. You do not need to inhale. It is important to hold the nasal spray in an upright position to be able to deliver an accurate dose.

You may not feel the mist from the nasal spray because it is so fine. It is all right if some of the spray drips. One spray will give you the amount of medication needed. Use Fortical every day, alternating nostrils each time. Replace the lock tab and cap after using the spray. Do not refrigerate after opening. Once Fortical is opened, it should be kept at room temperature and thrown out 30 days after its first use.

  • What should I avoid while taking Fortical?

Avoid spraying Fortical into the same nostril every day. If you use the right nostril one day, use the left nostril the next day.
