    Haldol decanoate may cause neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a life-threatening brain disorder. Call your doctor immediately if you develop muscle stiffness, confusion, irregular or rapid heartbeat, increased blood pressure, excessive sweating, shaking, or high fever.

    If you are taking Haldol decanoate and lithium at the same time, you need to be closely monitored. This combination may cause brain damage. Please contact your doctor right away if you notice: weakness, fever, or confusion.

    Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis, or patients with Parkinson's disease or a condition known as severe toxic central nervous system depression should not receive Haldol decanoate.
