    Herpecin L contains a skin protectant and sunscreen. It is intended to help prevent sunburn on lips and relieve dry, chapped lips. It is also intended to help treat and relieve cold sores/fever blisters.
  • Are there any warnings associated with Herpecin L?

    This product is for external use only. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any ingredient in the product.

    Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. This product has been shown only to prevent sunburn where applied to lips, not skin cancer or early skin aging.

    When using this product, apply it only to affected areas.

    Keep this product out of your eyes. Rinse water to remove. Do not use this product on broken skin.

    When using this product, only apply to affected areas. Avoid applying this product directly inside your mouth. Do not share this product with anyone else, since this may spread infection.

    Stop use and ask a doctor if a rash occurs and/or the condition worsesns, does not improve within 7 days, or clears up and occurs again in a few days.

  • What is the usual dosage of Herpecin L?

    Adults and children 12 years: Apply the product liberally and evenly to the affected area on the lips at the first sign of a cold sore and 15 minutes before sun exposure. Rub the product in gently but completely. To treat cracking or dryness, continue to cover the lips until the product is absorbed. Reapply liberally as often as needed and at least every 2 hours when in sun and use a water resistant sunscreen on lips if swimming or sweating.
