  • What is this medication?

    Icy Hot contains a topical analgesic. It is intended to temporarily relieve minor pain associated with arthritis, a simple backache, muscle strains, sprains, bruises, or cramps. The Icy Hot Patch and the Icy Hot Sleeve are also intended to temporarily relieve minor pain associated with bursitis and tendonitis.

    This product is for external use only.

    Use this product only as directed.

    Do not bandage tightly or use this product with a heating pad.

    Do not apply to wounds or damaged, broken, or irritated skin.

    For the Icy Hot Roll, do not overwrap or wrap the strips over themselves. Do not wrap this product around your neck.

    Do not apply the Icy Hot Roll over large areas of the body or apply it in strips longer than 6 inches.

    For Icy Hot No Mess, a transient burning sensation may occur upon application of this product, but generally disappears in several days.

    Do not spray Icy Hot Spray onto the face. Avoid inhaling spray mist and fumes. Do not puncture or incinerate Spray container. Contents are under pressure.

    Icy Hot No Mess, Icy Hot Spray, and Icy Hot Power Gel are flammable. Keep products away from fire or flame. Do not use while smoking.

    Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.

    Stop using this product and ask a doctor if your condition worsens, redness is present, irritation develops, or symptoms persist for more than 7 days or clear up and occur again within a few days.

    Keep out of the reach of children. If this product is swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.

    If Icy Hot is used with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Always check with your doctor before combining Icy Hot with any other medication.
  • What is the usual dosage of Icy Hot?

    Icy Hot Patch

    Adults and children >12 years: Remove backing from the patch by grasping both ends firmly and gently pulling until the backing separates in the middle. Carefully remove the smaller portion of the backing from the patch and apply the exposed portion of the patch to the affected area. Once the exposed portion of the patch is positioned, carefully remove the remaining backing to completely apply the patch to the affected area.

    Apply one patch to the affected area. Wear one Icy Hot Patch up to 8 hours. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 3 times daily.

    Children 12 years:

    Ask a doctor.

    Icy Hot Roll:

    Adults and children >12 years: Tear or cut the roll to the desired size. Carefully remove the backing from one end of the strip and place on the affected area. Remove the remaining backing and press into place. Wear Icy Hot Medicated Roll for up to 8 hours. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 3 to 4 times daily.

    Children 12 years:

    Icy Hot Sleeve:

    Adults and children >12 years: Remove plastic insert and discard. Pull Icy Hot Sleeve over itself, the medicine will then be touching the skin. Apply one Icy Hot Sleeve to the affected area. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 4 times daily. The sleeve should feel snug but not tight.

    Children 12 years:

    Icy Hot Spray:

    Adults and children >12 years: Spray the affected area with the desired amount of this product. The product will dry quickly on its own, and does not need to be rubbed in. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 3 to 4 times daily.

    Children ≤12 years: Ask a doctor.

    Icy Hot Power Gel:

    Adults and children >12 years: Apply generously to the affected area. Massage into the painful area until thoroughly absorbed into the skin. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 3 or 4 times daily.

    Children ≤12 years: Ask a doctor.

    Icy Hot Vanishing Scent Gel:

    Adults and children >12 years: Apply generously to the affected area. Squeeze the desired amount onto the affected area. Using the sponge-top applicator, massage the dispensed gel into the painful area until thoroughly absorbed. Repeat as necessary, but no more than 4 times daily.

  • How should I store Icy Hot?

    Store at room temperature. For Icy Hot Spray, avoid long term storage above 104°F and do not store at temperatures above 120°F.
