    Adults: The usual dosage of Lortab 2.5 milligrams (mg)/500 mg and Lortab 5 mg/500 mg is one or two tablets every 4-6 hours as needed for pain. Do not exceed eight tablets per day.

    The usual dosage of Lortab 7.5 mg/500 mg and Lortab 10 mg/500 mg is one tablet every 4-6 hours as needed for pain. Do not exceed six tablets per day.

    The usual dosage of Lortab Elixir is one tablespoon every 4-6 hours as needed for pain. Do not exceed six tablespoons per day.

    Children ≥2 years: Your doctor will prescribe the appropriate dose for your child based on his or her weight.

    Take Lortab exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

    Accurate dosing of Lortab Elixir is very important. A household teaspoon or tablespoon is not an accurate measuring device. It is strongly recommended that you obtain and use a proper measuring device. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for help to find a dropper that can measure the dose properly.

    Avoid alcohol and other medications with acetaminophen, such as Tylenol products or over-the-counter cold and cough medications.

    Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

    If you miss a dose of Lortab, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
