  • What is Niferex-150?

    Niferex-150 is a combination iron and vitamin C dietary supplement to treat or prevent iron deficiency.

  • What is the most important information I should know about Niferex-150?

    Keep out of reach of children. Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children <6 years. In case of accidental overdose, call your doctor or a poison control center immediately.

    Niferex-150 may cause black stools, constipation, or diarrhea, which is usually transient and self-limiting.

  • Who should not take Niferex-150?

    People with hemochromatosis or a family history of this condition should speak with their doctor before taking iron supplements.

  • What should I tell my doctor before I take the first dose of Niferex-150?

    Tell your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking before beginning treatment with Niferex-150. Also, talk to your doctor about your complete medical history, including a history of hemochromatosis.

  • What is the usual dosage?

    The information below is based on the dosage guidelines your doctor uses. Depending on your condition and medical history, your doctor may prescribe a different regimen. Do not change the dosage or stop taking your medication without your doctor's approval.

    Adults: 1 or 2 capsules daily or as directed by the physician.

  • How should I take Niferex-150?

    Niferex-150 is best absorbed on an empty stomach; however, occasional stomach upset such as nausea may be minimized by taking with meals.

  • What should I avoid while taking Niferex-150?

    Speak with your doctor or pharmacist about any food or drugs you should avoid while taking Niferex-150.

  • What are possible food and drug interactions associated with Niferex-150?

    If Niferex-150 is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if iron interacts with any other medications you may be taking.

  • What are the possible side effects of Niferex-150?

    Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this drug.

    The effects of Niferex-150 during pregnancy and breastfeeding are unknown. Tell your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

    If you miss a dose of Niferex-150, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

  • How should I store Niferex-150?

    Store at room temperature.
