  • What is Omnaris?

Omnaris is an antihistamine used for the relief of nasal (nose) symptoms of seasonal or year-round allergies (such as itching, runny nose, sneezing, or stuffy nose). Omnaris comes in the form of a nasal suspension.

  • What is the most important information I should know about Omnaris?

Omnaris is for use in your nose only.

Omnaris can cause local nasal effects, including nose bleed or nasal ulcers. Omnaris can also cause nasal fungal infections, form a hole in the wall between your nostrils, or impair wound healing. This medication should not be used if you have nasal ulcers, nasal surgery, or nasal trauma until healing has occurred.

Cataracts (clouding of the eye's lens), glaucoma (high pressure in the eye), or other eye problems can occur while you are using Omnaris. Tell your doctor if you experience a change in your vision.

If you use Omnaris, you can have a higher chance of getting an infection. Tell your doctor if you develop a fever or other signs of infection.

Do not expose yourself to chickenpox or measles while you are using Omnaris. This can be very serious and even fatal in children and adults who have not had chickenpox or measles. Also, use Omnaris with caution if you have active or inactive tuberculosis (a bacterial infection that affects the lungs), as well as untreated fungal, bacterial, or viral infections.

Omnaris can have a greater effect on children because they are more likely to absorb large amounts of the medicine. Long-term use can affect the growth and development of children. Talk to your doctor if you think your child is not growing at a normal rate after using this medication for a long period of time.

Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if your condition worsens.

  • Who should not take Omnaris?

Do not use Omnaris if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients.

  • What should I tell my doctor before I take the first dose of Omnaris?

Also, talk to your doctor about your complete medical history, especially if you have any infections, tuberculosis, glaucoma, cataracts, asthma, or nasal problems or surgery.

  • What is the usual dosage?
