    PediaCare Children's Multi-Symptom Cold contains a cough suppressant and a nasal decongestant. It is intended to temporarily relieve cough and nasal congestion.
  • Are there any warnings associated with PediaCare Children's Multi-Symptom Cold?

    Do not use this product in a child who is taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), or for two weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. MAOIs are sometimes used for treating Parkinson's disease, depression, or other emotional or psychiatric conditions.

    Do not exceed the recommended dosage of this product.

    Stop using this product and ask a doctor if nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occur. Also stop using this product and ask a doctor if symptoms do not improve within 7 days, or occur with a fever; if the cough gets worse or lasts more than 7 days; or if the cough comes back or occurs with a fever, rash, or headache that lasts. These could be signs of a serious condition.

    Do not use this product in children under 4 years of age.

    Keep this product out of the reach of children. In the case of an overdose, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.

    Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you do not know whether your child's prescription drug contains an MAOI.

    Ask a doctor before using this product if your child has heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, a persistent or chronic cough such that occurs with asthma, or cough accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus), or is on a sodium-restricted diet.

    Side effects cannot always be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this drug.

  • What is the usual dosage of PediaCare Children's Multi-Symptom Cold?

    If possible, use weight to dose. Otherwise, use age. Use only the dosing cup specifically designed for use with this product. Do not use any other dosing device.

    Children 48 to 95 pounds, 6 to 11 years: Take 10 milliliters (mL). If needed repeat dose every 4 hours while symptoms last. Do not use more than 6 times in 24 hours.

    Children 36 to 47 pounds, 4 to 5 years: Take 5 mL. If needed repeat dose every 4 hours while symptoms last. Do not use more than 6 times in 24 hours.

    Children under 36 pounds, <4 years: Do not use.
