Return to topDalmane is a hypnotic agent used to treat insomnia, which includes difficulty falling asleep, waking up frequently at night, or waking up early in the morning. Dalmane is also used to treat patients who have medical conditions requiring restful sleep.

The failure of insomnia to remit after 7 to 10 days of treatment may indicate the presence of a primary psychiatric and/or medical illness that should be evaluated.
Due to sedative properties, avoid alcohol consumption while on Dalmane.
Tolerance and dependence may occur with the use of Dalmane.
You may experience withdrawal symptoms if you stop using Dalmane abruptly. Discontinue or change your dose only in consultation with your doctor.
Who should not take Dalmane?

Adults: The usual dosage is 30 milligrams (mg) taken before bedtime. In some patients, 15 mg may be sufficient.

Withdrawal symptoms may include: convulsions, tremor, abdominal and muscle cramps, vomiting and sweating
Can I receive Dalmane if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
