Brevoxyl Gel, Brevoxyl Cleansing Lotion, and Brevoxyl Creamy are indicated for the topical treatment of mild to moderate acne (vulgaris). Brevoxyl may be used with other acne products, including antibiotics, retinoic acid products, and sulfur/salicylic acid-containing products.

Brevoxyl Gel, Brevoxyl Cleansing Lotion and Brevoxyl Creamy are for external use only. Brevoxyl should be kept away from eyes. If irritation develops, stop using Brevoxyl immediately. Brevoxyl's results will not be visible until the third week of treatment; therefore, do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor.

Avoid contact with hair, fabrics, or carpeting since benzoyl peroxide will cause bleaching.

Patients with hypersensitivity to Brevoxyl and its ingredients should not take this medication. Do not use in children less than 12 unless you have consulted with your doctor.

The information below is based on the dosage guidelines your doctor uses. Depending on your condition and medical history, your doctor may prescribe a different regimen. Do not change the dosage or stop taking your medication without your doctor's approval.

Brevoxyl-4 and Brevoxyl-8 Gels

Adults: Apply once or twice daily to affected areas.

Brevoxyl-4 and Brevoxyl-8 Cleansing Lotions

Adults: Wash with cleansing lotion once a day for the first week and twice a day the following week.

Brevoxyl-4 and Brevoxyl-8 Creamy Washes

Adults: Wash with creamy wash once a day for the first week and twice a day the following week.


How should I take Brevoxyl?

For the Brevoxyl-4 and Brevoxyl-8 Gels, clean the affected area and pat dry. Apply as directed to affected area. Gentle cleansing of the affected areas prior to application may be beneficial.

For the Brevoxyl-4 and Brevoxyl-8 Cleansing Lotions, shake well before use. Wet skin and apply lotion, work to a full lather. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

For the Brevoxyl-4 and Brevoxyl-8 Creamy Washes, shake well before use. Wet skin and apply lotion, work to a full lather. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.


What should I avoid while taking Brevoxyl?

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous openings. Avoid contact with your hair, fabrics, or carpeting as Brevoxyl may cause bleaching. Also, avoid excessive sun exposure.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Brevoxyl?

Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double your dose.
