You should take Methergine cautiously if you have an infection of the blood known as sepsis, a disease of the blood vessels known as obliterative vascular disease, or liver or kidney disease.

Return to topYou should not take Methergine if you have high blood pressure, are pregnant, are sensitive orhave an allergy to methergine, or have a type of syndrome that develops during pregnancy known as toxemia.

0.2 milligrams (mg) given intravenously after a specific time during labor.
Oral Tablet
0.2 mg (1 tablet) taken 3-4 times daily for up to 7 days.
