Return to topVandazole is an antibacterial agent (in the form of an intravaginal gel) used to treat bacterial vaginosis in nonpregnant women.
What is the most important information I should know about Vandazole?
Return to topPsychotic reactions have been reported in alcoholic patients who were using oral metronidazole along with disulfiram.
Seizures and peripheral neuropathy (numbness, tingling) have been reported with the use of oral metronidazole. If you experience any unusual neurological symptoms, discontinue the use of Vandazole and notify your doctor immediately.
Who should not take Vandazole?

What is the usual dosage?

Adults: The recommended dosage of Vandazole is one applicator full (approximately 5 grams) once or twice daily for 5 days.
How should I take Vandazole?
Return to topVandazole is supplied with 5 vaginal applicators. For once-daily dosing, one applicator should be used per dose. For once-daily dosing, administer Vandazole at bedtime. For twice-daily dosing, the applicator should be washed, rinsed and dried following the morning application and reused for the evening dose. After the evening dose, the applicator should be discarded.
What should I avoid while taking Vandazole?
Return to topAvoid use of alcohol while being treated with Vandazole. Do not engage in vaginal intercourse or use other vaginal products such as tampons during treatment with this product.
What are possible food and drug interactions associated with Vandazole?
