  • What is this product?

    This product is intended to provide heat therapy to temporarily relieve minor muscle and joint aches and pains related to overexertion, strains, sprains, and arthritis.
  • Are there any warnings associated with this product?

    This product can cause burns. For individuals 55 years and older, the risk of burning increases with increasing age. Wear ThermaCare HeatWraps Lower Back and Hip over a layer of clothing or in the case of the ThermaCare HeatWraps Knee and Elbow, wear over a towel or cloth - and not directly against your skin. Avoid wearing while sleeping.

    Check your skin frequently while using. If you find irritation, burns or blisters, immediately remove the product.

    Avoid using for more than 8 hours in a 24-hour period (12 hours for ThermaCare HeatWraps Knee and Elbow).

    Avoid using this product on skin that is unhealthy, damaged, or broken.

    Also avoid using the product on areas of bruising or swelling that have occurred within 48 hours; on places on your body where you cannot feel heat; on people who are unable to remove the product, including infants, children, and some elderly; or on people who are not able to follow all use instructions.

    Do not use this product if heat cell contents leak and/or wrap is damaged or torn.

    If the product feels too hot, stop using it or wear it over clothing.

    Avoid placing extra pressure on the product, such as leaning against hard surfaces or wearing it under tight clothing, a tight waistband, or a belt.

    Remove the product before undergoing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to avoid an increased risk of burns.

    Stop using the product and talk to a doctor if your pain gets worse or lasts more than 7 days, or if you have any discomfort, burning, swelling, rash, or other changes in your skin that continue where the wrap is worn.

    Keep this product out of the reach of children and pets.

    The product can be harmful if ingested. If it is ingested, rinse mouth with water and contact a poison control center immediately.

    If the contents of the heat disc come into contact with your skin or eyes, rinse immediately with water.

    Avoid microwaving or attempting to reheat, since the wrap may catch fire.

  • Should I talk to my doctor before using this product?

    Talk to a doctor before using this product if you have diabetes, poor circulation, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, or if you are pregnant.
  • What are the possible side effects of this product?

    This product can cause burns.

    Side effects cannot always be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this drug.

  • What should I avoid while using this product?

    Avoid using this product with pain rubs, medicated lotions, creams, or ointments.

    Avoid using this product with other forms of heat.

  • What are possible food and drug interactions associated with this product?

    If ThermaCare HeatWraps are used with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Always check with your doctor before combining ThermaCare HeatWraps with any other medication.
  • What is the usual dosage?

    For ThermaCare HeatWraps Lower Back and Hip:

    Tear open the pouch when you are ready to use it. Place it on the painful area with the darker discs toward the skin. Adjust the product for comfort and avoid overtightening. Wear up to 8 hours. Avoid wearing for more than 8 hours in any 24-hour period. If 55 and older, wear over a layer of clothing, not directly against your skin

    Place the wrap flat against your skin. Avoid folding or bunching, since this may increase your risk of a burn.

    For ThermaCare HeatWraps Neck, Wrist and Shoulder:

    Tear open the pouch when you are ready to use. Peel away the paper to reveal the adhesive side. Place on painful area with adhesive against the skin, attaching firmly. Avoid overlapping the heat cells when applying to your wrist.

    Wear up to 8 hours. Avoid wearing for more than 8 hours in any 24-hour period.

    Place the wrap flat against your skin. Avoid folding or bunching, since this may increase your risk of a burn.

    For ThermaCare HeatWraps Knee and Elbow:

    Tear open the pouch when you are ready to use. Peel away the paper to reveal adhesive tabs. Use of adhesive is optional. Bend the knee or elbow slightly and place the opening over the kneecap or elbow. Avoid placing heat cells on the back of the knee or inside the bend of the arm. Secure the optional tabs to the skin. Wrap straps around the knee or elbow and fasten. Adjust for comfort and avoid over-tightening.

    Wear up to 12 hours. Avoid wearing for more than 12 hours in any 24-hour period. Place the wrap flat against your skin. Avoid folding or bunching, since this may increase your risk of a burn.
