  • What is this medication?

    Visine-A is an antihistamine and redness reliever that is intended to provide temporary relief of eye itching and redness related to pollen, ragweed, animal hair and dander, and grass.
  • Are there any warnings associated with Visine-A?

    Do not use this product if you are sensitive to any ingredient it contains.

    Stop using the product and ask a doctor if you have eye pain or changes in vision, lasting redness or eye irritation, or your condition worsens or lasts more than 72 hours.

    When using this product, pupils may become enlarged temporarily. Overuse may cause more eye redness.

    Some users may experience a brief tingling sensation.

    Do not touch the tip of the container to any surface to avoid contamination, and replace the cap after each use.

    Remove contact lenses before using this product. Do not use it if the solution has changed color or become cloudy.

    Keep this product out of the reach of children. If it is swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center immediately. If infants or children swallow this medication, a coma and marked reduction in body temperature may result.

    Ask a doctor before using this product if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating due to prostate gland enlargement, or narrow angle glaucoma.
  • What are the possible side effects of Visine-A?

    When using this product, your pupils may become temporarily enlarged. Overuse of this product may cause additional eye redness. You may also notice a brief tingling sensation when using the product.

    Side effects cannot always be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this drug.

  • What should I avoid while taking Visine-A?

    Do not use this product while wearing contact lenses. Do not allow the tip of the container to touch any surface.
  • What are possible food and drug interactions associated with Visine-A?

    If Visine-A is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Always check with your doctor before combining Visine-A with any other medication.
  • What is the usual dosage of Visine-A?

    Adults and children 6 years: Put 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) up to 4 times daily.

    Children <6 years: Ask a doctor.

  • How should I store Visine-A?

    Store at room temperature.
