    Vosol HC solution is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of your outer ear, complicated by inflammation.

  • What is the most important information I should know about Vosol HC?

    Vosol HC can cause irritation or an allergic reaction. Stop using Vosol HC and tell your doctor immediately if you develop a skin rash, itching, or irritation.

  • Who should not take Vosol HC?

    Do not use Vosol HC if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients. Also, do not use Vosol HC if you have certain viral infections (such as herpes simplex, vaccinia, or varicella virus), or if you have a perforated eardrum.

  • What should I tell my doctor before I take the first dose of Vosol HC?

    Tell your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking before beginning treatment with Vosol HC. Also, talk to your doctor about your complete medical history, especially if you have allergies, a viral infection, a perforated eardrum, or other ear disorders.

  • What is the usual dosage?

    The information below is based on the dosage guidelines your doctor uses. Depending on your condition and medical history, your doctor may prescribe a different regimen. Do not change the dosage or stop taking your medication without your doctor's approval.

    Adults: Apply 3-5 drops into the affected ear(s) 3-4 times a day.

    Children ≥3 years: Apply 3-4 drops into the affected ear(s) 3-4 times a day.

  • How should I take Vosol HC?

    Apply Vosol HC exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Carefully remove all ear wax and debris from your ear canal.

    To promote continuous contact, insert a cotton wick saturated with Vosol HC solution into your ear canal; you can also saturate the wick after insertion of the wick into your ear canal. Keep the cotton wick moist by adding 3-5 drops of the solution every 4-6 hours. Remove the wick after 24 hours. Continue to apply the solution into your affected ear(s) 3-4 times a day.

    Do not stop taking Vosol HC without asking your doctor.

    No significant interactions have been reported with Vosol HC at this time. However, always tell your doctor about any medicines you take, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

  • What are the possible side effects of Vosol HC?

    Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this drug.

  • What should I do if I miss a dose of Vosol HC?

    If you miss a dose of Vosol HC, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply two doses at once.
